This privacy policy applies to the Keepsake app (hereby referred to as "Application") for mobile devices that was created by Chaotic Good Creations (hereby referred to as "Service Provider") as a Freemium service. This service is intended for use "AS IS".
When you use the Application, it sends anonymous usage information to the services described below (analytics, crash reports and subscriptions). This may include:
Like any internet connection, the services the Application connects to receive your device's IP address so they can respond. TelemetryDeck and Sentry don't store it.
The Application doesn't track your location. Location is only used when you tap "Use current location" on a keepsake (see Places, below), and it is never sent to us or to our analytics, crash reporting or subscription services.
The Application doesn't ask for your name, email address or other contact details, and we don't use anything it collects to contact you or market to you. If you email us for support, we use your address only to reply.
Everything you add to Keepsake, including photos, scans, voice notes, places, notes, and the text found in them, is stored on your device and in your own private iCloud account. It is not sent to us, and we cannot see or access it.
Voice notes. The Application asks for microphone access only when you choose to record a voice note. Recordings are saved to your keepsake and are never uploaded to us. To make voice notes searchable, the Application turns speech into text using Apple's speech recognition, which runs on your device. The audio does not leave it.
Places. You can search for a place, type a name, or tap "Use current location". Location access is requested only when you tap that button. Your location is read once, saved to the keepsake as the place you chose, and not sent to us. Searching for a place uses Apple Maps, which is covered by Apple's privacy policy.
Text in photos and scans. The Application reads the words in your photos and scans on your device so you can search for them. Nothing is sent anywhere to do this.
Subscriptions. Premium is processed by Apple and managed with RevenueCat. RevenueCat receives your purchase history, linked to an anonymous ID rather than your name or email, to confirm your subscription, unlock Premium features, and help us understand how Premium is used.
Analytics. We use TelemetryDeck to count how the Application is used, for example which features are opened. These counts are anonymous and never include the content of your keepsakes, voice notes or places.
Crash reports. If the Application crashes, it sends a crash report to Sentry, a service that helps us find and fix the problem. A report contains technical details only, such as what the app's own code was doing when it crashed, your device model, iOS version, app version, available memory and the app's language. It never includes your keepsakes, photos, scans, voice notes, transcripts, places, notes or file names.
Each report carries a random identifier, created when the app is installed, which resets if you delete the app. It isn't linked to your name, email, Apple Account or the identifiers used by our analytics or subscriptions. Sentry doesn't store your IP address, and reports don't include your location. Reports are stored in the EU (Frankfurt) and deleted automatically within 90 days.
The Application only sends information to the third-party services named in this policy (RevenueCat, TelemetryDeck and Sentry), and only as described above. None of them receive the content of your keepsakes. The Service Provider may share your information with third parties in the ways that are described in this privacy statement.

This section covers the optional email list on our website. It is separate from the Application. The Application does not collect your email address, and your keepsakes are never part of this list.
If you choose to subscribe on our website, we collect your email address and nothing else. We use it only to send you occasional notes, about once a month, when we publish a new article in the Keepsake Journal, or a very meaningful update.
We use Brevo, an email service provider, to store your address and send these emails on our behalf (see Brevo's Privacy Policy). We ask you to confirm your address by email before we send anything (double opt-in). Brevo records whether an email was opened or a link in it was clicked.
You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of every email. To have your address deleted, write to hello@chaoticgoodcreations.co. We will never sell or share your address.
You can stop all collection of information by the Application easily by uninstalling it. You may use the standard uninstall processes as may be available as part of your mobile device or via the mobile application marketplace or network.
The Service Provider will retain User Provided data for as long as you use the Application and for a reasonable time thereafter. If you'd like them to delete User Provided Data that you have provided via the Application, please contact them at hello@chaoticgoodcreations.co and they will respond in a reasonable time.
The Service Provider does not use the Application to knowingly solicit data from or market to children under the age of 13.
The Application does not address anyone under the age of 13. The Service Provider does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 years of age. In the case the Service Provider discover that a child under 13 has provided personal information, the Service Provider will immediately delete this from their servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact the Service Provider (hello@chaoticgoodcreations.co) so that they will be able to take the necessary actions.
The Service Provider is concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. The Service Provider provides physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect information the Service Provider processes and maintains.
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. The Service Provider will notify you of any changes to the Privacy Policy by updating this page with the new Privacy Policy. You are advised to consult this Privacy Policy regularly for any changes, as continued use is deemed approval of all changes.
